Non-Kitchen Rooms that Benefit From Great Cabinets

December 1, 2020

When it comes to great cabinetry, one of the first things we think of is a high-quality luxury kitchen cabinet. No surprises there as it’s the most prominent and most extensive cabinetry that a lot of people have in their homes. But this doesn’t mean that we need to limit ourselves there. We can have beautiful and detailed custom cabinetry all around our home. We list below some rooms that we think could use some cabinetry.

Bathroom

If kitchens were not the first thing you thought of when thinking of great cabinetry, it might’ve been the bathroom. As one of the most used spaces in the home, it’s easy to see why you’d want cabinets here. You can have a standalone vanity, or you can have a full-blown set-up that also has linen storage, shelves, and built-in hampers.

A vanity can hide plumbing, provide storage spaces, and add an accent piece to your bathroom.

Laundry Room

Often dark, drab, and with a mess of dirty clothes, the laundry room can greatly benefit from the organization cabinets provide. In many ways, a laundry room has a few similar requirements to a kitchen. You’ll need a sink, storage, appliances, and space to work on. Cabinetry is also a great way to hide your washer and dryer for a nice clean look.

Instead of using just a small console, you can instead maximize all the wall space around, above, and under your TV.

Office or Study Room

If you work from home regularly, you can definitely look into sprucing up your office with cabinetry. Not only can it add more functionality than just a table, but it can also make your home office a more pleasant space to work in. We’re sure no one wants to spend the whole day working in a dreary and ugly office. If it’s not for you, maybe it’s for your kids. A beautiful study room or playroom creates a great environment for your children to learn and grow.

Storage under the bench and shelves over the table provides your kids all the space they need to keep their books and toys.

Entryway

We don’t usually think much of our home’s entryway. For some, it’s just a mostly open space that leads into the other rooms or up the stairs. Adding cabinets gives you a place to store coats, shoes, and other things you need when going out of the house. A well-designed entryway also makes your home more inviting as it’s the first place you’ll see when you walk in the front door.

This storage bench provides both a place to keep things and a place for you to put on your shoes.

You might just be thinking that it seems like about any room in your home can benefit from added cabinetry. You would be absolutely right! Aside from those mentioned above, you can add cabinets to your bedroom, dining room, garage, etc. What we’ve explored here is just the tip of the iceberg. Cabinets are a great way to add storage, maximize vertical space, and add visual interest to any room or area in your home.
