Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Working With Wood & Co.

  • Wood & Co. works on a variety of custom millworking and interior projects. The bulk of our work is in custom cabinetry—kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, walk-in closets, and many more. We also do wall paneling, built-in seating, custom doors, and other interior works. Our projects also vary in scope from a single wall of cabinets to whole-home fit-outs.

  • Our woodworking shop is located in Ronkonkoma on Long Island, New York. We proudly serve New York City, Long Island, and nearby states such as New Jersey and Connecticut.

  • As early as you can. Projects vary in scope and timelines, so it is best to reach out to us ahead of time. This way there is a lot of flexibility for us to work with, ensuring that we can meet your project needs.

  • Aside from fabrication and installation of custom cabinetry, we also offer adjacent services such as 3D visualization services and millwork consultations.

General Budgeting Guidance

  • Our smaller kitchen projects typically start at $80,000, with most kitchens falling between $125,000 and $250,000. This price is for the cabinetry only, and does not include countertops, appliances, hardware, nor fixtures. The final cost will greatly depend on the size, complexity, and level of customization of your kitchen. Features such as full-height cabinets, custom drawer inserts, pocketing doors, and other specialty elements add to the investment. For highly complex projects, it’s not uncommon for kitchens to go beyond $300,000.

  • All Wood & Co. closets are built to furniture grade standards, meaning they are crafted with the same level of quality, materials, and detailing you’d expect from fine cabinetry rather than a modular system. Smaller single-wall closets typically range from $10,000 to $50,000. Large master closets, however, approach costs similar to kitchens due to its larger size and complexity.

  • All Wood & Co. bathroom vanities are built to the same furniture-grade standards as our kitchens and closets, with the same attention to detail and craftsmanship. A small single vanity typically begins around $5,000, while most vanities fall within the $10,000 to $30,000 range. This pricing is for cabinetry only and does not include stone countertops, backsplashes, sinks, or faucets.

  • Whole-home cabinetry projects are highly customized and can range anywhere from $500,000 to $3 million or more, depending on the size of the home and the level of complexity. This pricing is for cabinetry only and does not include architectural millwork such as doors, wall paneling, crown moldings, or base moldings. Including these elements will increase the overall investment, and the cost can vary significantly based on the home’s style, scale, and level of finish. Because of this, the best way to understand the investment for a full-home project is to schedule a consultation with our team so we can provide a tailored estimate.

  • When you invest in Wood & Co. cabinetry and millwork, you are investing in enduring quality and craftsmanship. Every project is designed and built to furniture-grade standards, with precise shop drawings that translate design vision into reality. Our team ensures seamless execution—from fabrication in our local workshop to installation in your home.

Beyond the work itself, the value lies in peace of mind: knowing your project is managed by experts who understand complex design details, collaborate effectively with architects and builders, and bring millwork expertise to every decision. The result is cabinetry and millwork that elevate your home and stand the test of time.

  • That is completely fine. The best place to start is with a conversation about your vision, priorities, and any specific requirements you may have. Your budget will ultimately depend on the scope of the project, the materials you choose, and the level of detail in the design. We can walk you through different options, share examples of similar projects, and help you identify a realistic range. Get in touch with us, and we will guide you through the process so you can make informed decisions with confidence.

Design & Customization

  • At Wood & Co., we work primarily with fine hardwoods such as maple, white oak, and walnut—available in solid pieces, veneers, or plywood depending on the needs of your project. Each wood can be tailored through different cuts, including plain sawn, rift sawn, or paint-grade, allowing us to achieve the exact look and performance you’re after.

We offer both stained and painted finishes, using only high-quality products to ensure a lasting result. We can also incorporate natural stone, metals, or fabrics through our trusted partners. The result is cabinetry and millwork that feel truly bespoke and seamlessly aligned with your home’s design.

  • Absolutely! Beyond the classic hardwoods we commonly work with, we can source and craft with more exotic woods and veneers such as ebony or teak. Our team also regularly works with specialty finishes such as cerused white oak, custom stain matching, and high-gloss lacquers.

For clients seeking something truly one-of-a-kind, we work closely with trusted suppliers to source rare materials and create finishes tailored to your project. Nearly any request can be accommodated, allowing us to achieve truly bespoke cabinetry that matches your unique style and needs.
