Take care as not to drop heavy objects on a glassos countertop, especially at the edges. Also, make sure to use chopping boards and place your pots on trivets. 2. Fingerprints Show Easily. As with most glossy and smooth surfaces, fingerprints and smears show on glass. It’s not a big issue, by any means, but it can definitely be an annoyance for some homeowners. Make sure you regularly wipe down your counter to stay on top of this small issue.

3. Higher Costs. This is the primary drawback for many thinking of this unique countertop material. A glassos kitchen countertop is more difficult to handle and install compared to more common materials. This translates to higher professional installation fees.
