East Hampton Wooden WINE CELLAR

2018
East Hampton, New York

Ah, wine collecting, a connoisseur’s delight. From uncorking a rare vintage to sharing its exquisite taste with friends, each and every bottle tells a story. Each acquisition can be quite the treasure hunt, seeking out the gems in vineyards all over the globe. Because of this, each bottle within a collection requires meticulous care and attention.

This is what our client needed for their home in East Hampton, a custom wine cellar to house their prized wine collection. Together with designer, Deborah Martin, we crafted an exquisite space where our client can store, display, and enjoy their liquor.

To fully maximize the space, we utilized the entire vertical space, placing wine racks from floor to ceiling. We included varying types such as shelves, diamond racks, and individual bottle holders. This ensures that no matter what size or style the client acquires in the future, there’s an appropriate slot for it. A rolling library ladder was also included to provide easy access to the uppermost wine racks.

This wine cellar also includes a modest bar area where the client can store various accessories, such as wine glasses, bottle openers, decanters and aerators, to name a few. A simple stone farmhouse sink complements the stone countertop and flooring. Glass paneled upper cabinet doors keeps the space looking light and airy.

Lastly, the combination of natural wood, stone textures, and a limited color palette creates an elegant and rustic space for enjoying one’s wine collection.

The combination of all these elements results in a tailor-made wine cellar that marries practicality and functionality with elegance and beauty.
