Hampton Custom Kitchen

For a family of four living in Southampton, function and style are what matter most. During the initial phase of designing this Hampton custom kitchen, there was much emphasis on the inclusion of a center island to fill up the large space and provide a focal point. Apart from those, it also serves as a functional piece, adding more storage below and a sitting area that can fit five. The triangular shape of the island followed the footprint of the kitchen. It initially seemed like an unconventional shape for an island, but it soon felt a perfect fit. The counter space was ample, and it still allowed good mobility throughout.

The sitting area is positioned close enough for a conversation but far enough for good elbow room. From there, the surrounding of custom cabinetry was laid out. We came up with different combinations of drawers and cabinets based on how the clients wanted to use the space. Everything is customized to fit their needs. A good mix of adjustable shelve fitted drawers and pull-outs provide them with more than enough space to organize based on changing demands. Upper cabinets are fitted with frosted glass panels and lighting. When deciding on a palette, it felt right to choose natural hues over striking colors.

A background of veined marble backsplash and countertops serve as the perfect canvas for beige cabinets. It’s a great match to the tan floor tiles and white painted ceiling. Your eyes are then led to an accented range hood with dark brown strips set on a bed of copper tones tiles. It’s as if you are treated to a delightful pop, an interesting change in texture. To complement this, the island doors are coated with the same dark finish. The same theme is continued to the bar stools, dark wood stain with coffee tinted leather and finished with gold nailhead trim.
